Family Fiesta Fun

Thankyou to all our families who joined us to celebrate Children’s week with our Family Fiesta on October 25. Feedback from families and staff indicated we all had a great time and we could see the children enjoying the party. The staff were a little concerned when the rain came, but even though we were all in the Preschool everything went so well. The welcome ceremony from Duncan and his son – Wiradjuri Echoes, was wonderful, a great way to commence the Fiesta. Both Duncan and his son are very talented and interact with ease with the children. The talented band playing in the Echidna room was great, with parents and children gathered around listening to those old jazz sounds, and some familiar nursery rhymes, so well played by one of our Dads and his musician colleague from School of Music. They were joined for a jam session by an older sister of 2 of our children playing the euphonium and another one of our Dads playing the drum. The Fiesta finished on a spectacular note with a bagpipe performance on the verandah, played by one of our Mums, such talented families we have! A good party must be accompanied by music, and our musicians were great, adding to the festive occasion.

A very BIG THANKYOU also goes to all the parents who brought plates of food to share. We had such a delicious spread of food—we obviously have ‘Master Chefs’ in the centre!

Our three beautiful fairies were just gorgeous, and our balloon lady very creative. And finally thankyou for the kind words written on our front notice board

Thanks to our wonderful staff (and parents) for the enormous effort and energy you put into the Family Fiesta celebrations… as carers, teachers, fairies, musicians, cooks, decorators and cleaners! It was a fabulous occasion and a great opportunity to enjoy the talents and remarkable cultural diversity of our staff, children and parents. We are all very fortunate to be part of this community.
